Runa (debt)
Runa means debt in English. The word runa not only refers to the loan that we receive from a bank, but also to the favour or the act of kindness done to us by others. For example, “Pranaku doddadu tayiya runa”. This is a line from a kannada song which means “the debt that we owe our mother has a greater value than our own lives” or “the debt that we owe our mother is unpayable” . When I get help from a person, I will be in Runa(Debt) of that help. I need to be grateful to that person for the help and should help him when he need. This is how Runa(Debt) is repayed. We all are in Runa to our Nation for giving wonderful place to live. We all are in Runa to our Parents for giving birth, raising us and loving us. We are in Runa to our Teachers who gave us education. We are in Runa to our Siblings who made our life better with love, care and fights.
