Friends
In a friendship, both people are concerned with meeting the other's needs and interests, while also satisfying their own desires. Friends are people who people trust, respect, and care about, and who they want to spend time with and confide in. A good friendship is built on honesty, loyalty, and support.
In all cultures, friendships are important relationships throughout a person's life span. Children often make friends naturally through settings like school, sports teams, and camp. It can be harder to make new friends as an adult, but there are still many ways to create new, enduring relationships.
Friend -- someone in your circle of friends, you might see often and sometimes do things together. Good friend -- enjoy each other's company and hang out a lot. Close friend -- as above, but share confidences and ask advice. Best friend -- the first friend you turn to, and the one you always rely on.
- Start by picturing a friend, including their age, gender, height, and social characteristics. Then, imagine how you'd get along with this friend.
